Frequently Asked Questions;

1) What if it looks like its going to rain?

Trust me, I watch the weather apps on my phone like a hawk in the days leading up to your session. If it looks like it's going to rain, we'll connect a few days in advance to discuss a game plan. 99% of the time that involves picking a new date & moving the session to that new date. Sometimes, clients would rather wait until the morning of the session to see if it will really rain. I'm totally fine with doing that, but bear in mind, if we start the session & it get's rained out, there will be a small fee to reschedule. In my years of experience, reschedule right away when it looks like it's going to rain. That way we can lock in a new date ASAP!

2) I'm super nervous in front of the camera & take horrible pictures... can you help me learn how to pose?

I know it's easier said than done, but please DON'T worry about being "bad" in front of the camera! I've been photographing people for over 6 years & have documented hundreds of people. I can honestly tell you that not a single one of those people, no matter how much they swore up & down that they would be, were "terrible" in their pictures! Awkward, sure; Uncomfortable, yes. But getting you to feel less awkward and uncomfortable is my job, & I promise that I'm good at it. I promise to do everything in my power to make you feel at-ease & comfortable during your session.

3) Can we bring our dog to our photo shoot?

Yes! I encourage bringing your furry animal to your session! However, if you're going to bring pets, please bring someone who is not involved in the photos with you. This way, that person can handle them while your animal is not in the pictures with you! The best thing is to include them in the beginning of the session, and then having a trusted friend or family member take them home. If you don't, we'll spend valuable session time wrangling them. You won't be able to relax & have fun during your session if you are worrying about your fur babies!

4) Can you travel to any location of my choosing?

Of course! I love going on an adventure & trying out new locations I have never been to before! I love exploring and challenging myself with a different background then I'm used too! That being said, my photography is based around the Lake Country Area; Oconomowoc, Delafield, Pewaukee, Hartland & the Waukesha area. I am willing to travel to a location of your choice, but depending on how far the location/area is from me, I may have to charge a small "traveling fee", as some locations can take over an hour to travel to! Please don't be afraid to ask; if you are super excited about a location, I would be more then willing to make the trek!

5) I'm not sure what location would look best for my pictures; do you have any recommendations?

I have a few "go to" locations where I LOVE taking pictures at, mostly because they have all different types of backgrounds that we can choose from! Whether that be woods/trees, water/ponds, brick buildings, bridges, tall grass ect. These locations include: The Fish Hatchery- Delafield, Retzner Nature Center- Waukesha, Frame Park- Waukesha, Heritage Park- Richfield, Holy Hill- Erin, Fowler Park- Oconomowoc, Downtown area- Oconomowoc, Paradise Springs- Eagle, Harnischfeger Park- Ashippun, Seven Bridges- Milwaukee, McKinley Park- Milwaukee.

(***There may be a small traveling fee for some of these locations***)

6) What time of day is best to take pictures?

Any photographer will tell you that the "Golden Hour" is the best time to take pictures; which I totally agree with! The Golden Hour is usually an hour before sunrise & sunset. I, however, find that my photos turn out the best, a couple of hours before sunset. So if the sun is setting at 7pm, I would say we should meet at 4:30pm! That way, we have time to chat and still have plenty of light and don't feel rushed. Taking pictures in the afternoon, when the sun is the brightest, causes unwanted shadows on the face/body and harsh lighting, which isn't something you want in your photos!
