Family Photos;
Families... What a blessing! Some days seem like they can't end soon enough, but most days you feel the time slipping by so fast that you want to catch it & preserve those moments forever! During your family session, I strive to capture the two most important things; love & laughter! We will of course start off with a posed position, well because, of course we need to get that "holiday card" right?! But the moments in between those poses are the shots I STRIVE to get! When it comes to your families personality, whether it be goofy or unique, I guarantee I will be able to capture it into one picture! I'm always so honored to be able to preserve memories and have my art hanging on your walls for years to come. I strive to capture the genuine moments, not forced poses & smiles. You will find that your session with me will be professional yet personable!
Tips for Families:
In family pictures today, it is more about being comfortable & coordinated verses formally dressed & matchy-matchy, I want you to be comfortable & able to have fun in front of the camera verses worrying about your outfit and getting it wrinkled. Before your shoot, take a little time to coordinate your family's look & then you can relax into your best smiles for the day of the shoot! P.S. keep in mind you want your pictures to be timeless; so go for a classic look instead of trendy!
Outfits- Select two main colors
Select two main colors plus hues of those colors to share amongst your family members to give your family portrait a softer more harmonious look. Don't be intimidated by selecting those main colors! Simply look at your home decor where you plan to display your photos, or simply get inspired by colors in your closet!
Don't Forget Accessories!
Accessories don't only add to your outfit, but they can be fun to use in photos! These can be scarves, vests, hats, jewelry, hair accessories ect
Say No to Characters-
Yes, your little one may love their Frozen shirt, but you may want to skip it for the family photo session! Just like patterns, characters on shirts can be pretty distracting and can clash with the background & what others are wearing!
Avoid All White or All Black Clothing-
If you are wearing an all white shirt, it is very easy to blow out parts of your shirt causing it to lose its detail in the photo; same can be said for all black.
